Al passivation is a chemical process and creates a colorless, slightly iridescent layer. This process of surface coating is chromium VI-free and colorless. The colorless passivation (Surtec 650) is RoHS and REACH compliant.

- As increased corrosion protection
- As a primer for subsequent painting
- Solderable
- Low surface resistance
- Layer thickness <1 µm
