Processing with glass beads / high-grade corundum can remove processing traces from turning and milling, as can temper colors after hardening. The matt surface created by the blasting can then be treated with other surface processes, such as chrome plating or black anodizing. Subsequent treatment of an anodized surface with glass beads creates a slightly shiny surface.
